Weber County approves budget amendments including $5M ARPA sewer award

"For our 2026 budget, the biggest change in that budget was a $5 million award that we received from the state of Utah through an ARPA grant," Stephanie Ebert said during her presentation. Ebert also described increases to several health-department grants, additional federal and state funding that will offset related expenses, an increase to the fleet budget to add vehicles for deputies tied to newly expanded sheriff contracts, a transfer of impact fees to Ogden Valley City to support projects outside county jurisdiction, and the reinstatement of a planner position for the remainder of the year.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about billing for added sheriff vehicles; Ebert confirmed the additional vehicles will be billed to contract cities. After closing the public hearing with no public comment, the board took a roll-call vote and approved Resolution 31 (recorded on the transcript as "Commissioner Bolos Aye; Commissioner Harvey Aye; CHAIR Frore Aye"). The resolution implements the budget adjustments described by Ebert and will take effect per county budget procedures.
