Students of the Month honored; union presents books for school media centers

Katy Steklac, Vice President of the Chelsea Education Association, presented books to the board in recognition of Board Appreciation Month; the gifts will be placed in each building’s media center for student use.
The board recognized Students of the Month for January: Sophia Demers from North Creek Elementary and Madelyn Demers from South Meadows Elementary. Student liaisons Jordan Nelson and Bradley Dunn offered brief reports and thanked staff for recent activities; Nelson said, "Thank you to Mr. Whitsel, Mr. Potgiesser and Mr. Spencer for their hard work keeping us safe." Board members also shared commendations — Kate Henson congratulated Anna McAllister on a state diving championship and the Girls Swim and Dive program for finishing 11th in the state.
These recognitions were delivered during the Special Presentations and the Student Liaison segments; they required no formal board action.
