At its Jan. 13 regular meeting, the Chelsea School District board recorded a series of unanimous roll-call votes approving routine and individual action items.
Consent and routine approvals included Action Item 50-24-25 (approval of minutes from Jan. 6 and the Jan. 7 policy committee meeting), Action Item 51-24-25 (purchase of WISD Fiber Consortium and PowerSchool hosting for 2024–2025), and Action Item 52-24-25 (approval of 2025–2026 course offering handbooks for Chelsea High School, Beach Middle School and Y5s–5th grade). Each motion was moved, seconded and passed with recorded Yeas and no Nays.
The board also approved a series of Thrun policy adoptions to take effect July 1, 2025. Those approvals covered policy groups listed in action items 53-24-25 through 58-24-25, including intellectual property, procurement and purchasing (including federal funds language), acquisition and disposition of property, safety and health-related policies (drills, communicable diseases, asbestos, firearms and weapons), FOIA and record retention, and a suite of personnel policies ranging from whistleblower protection to leave and employee development. Each policy motion passed by roll-call vote (Yeas: 7; Nays: 0).
Michelle Craig, chairing finance committee items earlier in the meeting, noted finance staff work that made approvals possible and thanked the finance team: "Thank you to Nicole and her team in the Finance department for getting our Finance Reports back up to date." The motions recorded in the minutes show all listed action items were approved without amendment.
