The board took a series of procedural and consent votes that concluded routine business for the night.
On policy matters, the board completed second readings and adopted board policy 2402 (English language arts, mastery-based learning and credit) and policy 2403 (math mastery-based learning and credit). A board member moved the policies and the board approved them by voice vote.
The board also approved the Class of 2031 constitution/bylaws so that the class can legally fundraise; a motion to approve was made and carried. Under consent there was a question about two replacement projectors (one for the high-school commons and one to be mounted in the gym); staff reported the replacements were planned to replace an old commons projector and to eliminate the need for a cart-mounted unit in the gym.
Finally, the board declared six commercial Whirlpool ovens used by the culinary arts program surplus after staff reported frequent failures. The board approved surplusing the ovens and directed that a disclaimer be included in any advertisement and that a plug-in test be available before sale.
The chair closed the meeting after the routine votes. "The ayes have it," the chair said after the votes were recorded.
