Board approves policies, student bylaws and routine consent items; surplus ovens declared

Under consent there was a question about two replacement projectors (one for the high-school commons and one to be mounted in the gym); staff reported the replacements were planned to replace an old commons projector and to eliminate the need for a cart-mounted unit in the gym.
Finally, the board declared six commercial Whirlpool ovens used by the culinary arts program surplus after staff reported frequent failures. The board approved surplusing the ovens and directed that a disclaimer be included in any advertisement and that a plug-in test be available before sale.
The chair closed the meeting after the routine votes. "The ayes have it," the chair said after the votes were recorded.
