Enrollment edges up; Insight School reports rapid growth, district presses OSPI on choice transfers

Myron and Diana both cautioned that application and choice-transfer lags can delay a student's effective start date and that district staff are working with OSPI to streamline the process.
The board discussed true-home school reporting requirements (the RCW-based affidavit for curriculum and qualifications) and how families who do not register may not appear in district counts. Diana said she had sent a letter to OSPI seeking clarification and an operational fix to reduce home-to-school transfer delays that keep students from starting on time.
Board members asked for continued monthly enrollment breakdowns by program and grade; Diana said a staff-prepared spreadsheet will show monthly exits and entries and help the board identify trends.
