Board recognizes students, staff and art show winners

Superintendent Dr. Jeff Thoenes named the Students of the Month across district campuses and announced Staff of the Month awards for Wendy Whitmore (Kitchen Manager, CES) and Sherri Morr (Bus Driver). The student honorees spanned grade levels and schools: Skye Whipple (CELA, Pre-K); Madelynn Russell (CES, 3rd Grade); Cory Buell Jr. (STEM, 7th Grade); Cabren Williams (CMS, 6th Grade); Ethan Wolverton (CHS, 12th Grade); Christopher Poe II (CVA, 3rd Grade); and Amahn Thurman-LaBarre (Compass, 12th Grade).
Dr. Thoenes also announced winners of the 3rd Annual Joe and Joyce VanBruggen Art Show. Ava Skinner (CHS) won Overall Best in Show and a $100 prize; several students received $50 awards or art-supply prizes. The minutes list the winners by school and prize but do not record in-meeting remarks by individual recipients.
