"They lost 3 in the flood," the EMS committee chairman said when explaining why the county chose donation over sale. "We took them an ambulance to use." The chairman told the commission the vehicle had been voted surplus previously and the decision was made to donate it rather than list it for sale on GovDeals.
Commissioners discussed whether the transfer should be recorded as a nominal sale or a gift; staff indicated the drafted resolution states the county is donating the ambulance to the receiving county. The motion to approve the resolution carried.
