Planning board approves Canandaigua National Bank sign replacements at 1155 Ridge Road

Canandaigua National Bank received planning board approval to replace existing exterior building signs at its 1155 Ridge Road branch. Jeff Ashline, representing the bank, said the bank is updating branch signage as part of a rebrand and requested four internally illuminated wall‑mounted signs totaling 122.12 square feet on a one‑acre parcel; the board classified the action as a Type 2 SEQR matter and approved the signs as presented.

Ashline explained the design and familiar clock motif, saying the new sign is a white acrylic internally illuminated face similar to other recently approved signs: "We're again, we're we're looking to provide the internally illuminated signs on all 4 sides to replace the existing that were approved, I think, back in 2008." Board members raised a question about the monument sign lacking a numerical address; staff noted the monument advertises multiple businesses and therefore does not include a single street number. The motion to approve the replacement signs passed unanimously among those present.

The bank was advised to proceed with permitting and noted the replacement is largely cosmetic and consistent with previously approved signage.
