Council approves 1450 Arlington Ave. setback variance over lone dissent

Neighbor Alicia Gaston, sworn in, urged Council to consider the neighborhood context and said she did not object to the variance. Council Member Laura Youssef said she opposed granting demolition permits when new homes will not follow setback guidelines and worried this could set a pattern.
Dow T. Voelker moved to approve the Setback Variance Application for 1450 Arlington Ave.; Bridget Sarna seconded. The motion passed 5-1, with Laura Youssef recorded as the sole no vote.
