Council approves lot split for 2200 & 2300 W. 5th Ave., contingent on easements

Council President Dow T. Voelker moved to approve the Lot Split Application for 2200 & 2300 W. 5th Ave., "contingent upon any necessary easements being established, and meeting the satisfaction of the Village Engineer and Village Solicitor." Joanne C. Taylor seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Village Engineer Caleb Zmith had told Council that AEP is still searching its records for documentation and that the village has requested a driveway and utility easement to ensure future access. Solicitor Yazan Ashrawi confirmed the council may grant the lot split subject to those easements. The council noted the setback variance for the new lot was approved at the April 2026 meeting and that the lot split had been discussed previously.
