Escondido Union honors social workers; Quantum Academy named California Distinguished School

The Escondido Union School District board honored nominees for the county social worker awards and celebrated a state-level recognition for Quantum Academy. A district official described Quantum Academy’s 12-year origin, credited founders and staff, and announced that the school was named a California Distinguished School in the achievement-gap-closure category. "Quantum Academy has been named a California distinguished school," the presenter said, noting the school’s integrated, content-rich curriculum and investments in professional development. The presenter said the academy’s model combines a rigorous, core-knowledge sequence with vertically and horizontally integrated instruction from kindergarten through 12th grade.
District leaders framed the recognitions as examples of the district’s focus on student supports and instructional improvement. The board offered public congratulations to employees honored tonight and thanked staff and community partners involved in student supports, curriculum development and extracurricular programs. No formal actions were required for the recognitions.
