Village staff reviewed the mobile vendor registration ordinance passed earlier this year and presented fee comparisons from neighboring communities, noting an Ohio average of about $122 per year. Staff said the original ordinance did not set a fee and recommended an annual $100 registration fee for 2026.
“My personal suggestion would be $100,” the presenter said, explaining the registration would be a single annual certificate rather than a per‑location fee and that vendors would still need to notify the village where they planned to operate. Council members asked about enforcement, waivers and whether the fee schedule should be codified; staff said the change would be limited to the registration fee and that other permitting and notification requirements remain in place.
Council members generally indicated support for testing the fee for one year and reviewing results, and staff noted some vendors already registered voluntarily this year. The council did not finalize a formal fee ordinance at the meeting but signaled consensus around the proposed $100 annual registration.
