County officials presented a proposed two-month law-enforcement services contract with the city of Tabor that would let Mills County provide temporary coverage while the city reviews long-term arrangements. The agreement would include a mileage or service charge and provisions to bill the city when prisoner transport to another county's court is required.
"You'll be getting a copy of the law enforcement services contract for the city of Taber," an official told the board, adding that the draft was being processed through the county attorney's office. Staff said the arrangement had been well received in the city and that Mills County could provide short-term coverage pending the city's review of other options. Board members asked staff to circulate the contract before a final vote.
No vote was taken at the meeting; staff said a copy of the proposed contract would be provided to board members for review and potential future action.
