Tharman also briefed the board on an Emergent3 presentation (staff recommended waiting before adoption) and a possible bus camera system; trustees and administrators agreed the camera solution’s expense was substantial and the project was tabled so the superintendent can seek alternative options. Those items remain in discussion, and no contract for Emergent3 or bus cameras was approved at the May 12 meeting.
The phone‑system motion and the KASB membership renewal (legal support) were recorded as separate consent items in the packet. The board also approved renewal of KASB membership and legal support for 2025–26 in a unanimous vote.
