New building official says U-Haul vehicles, out-of-code signs and a noncompliant fence will be addressed

Brian said the DARE project has complied by erecting a fence and that staff will close that case. He reported visiting 203 Binghamton and working with the homeowner; the homeowner agreed to reduce a fence to the code-required four feet by the coming Wednesday.
On a separate property with U-Haul vehicles and signage, Brian said he had met with company representatives and they plan to remove the vehicles after Easter Monday and will file a sign application for a restaurant sign that was identified as out of code. "So they're removing them until they can fall through the cut process and or rezoning process with the city," Brian said, describing the company's plan to remove vehicles while addressing the permit process.
Brian said he would send a notice regarding trailers on another property; the code provides a 5-to-10-day window and he expected to give the property owner the maximum allowable time before enforcement actions.
