Board approves change-of-ownership CUP for Poppert Preschool North, increases capacity to 170

The Village Board approved a conditional use permit to allow Poppert Preschool North (agent Jessica Poppert) to assume the existing daycare CUP at Esquire Drive and to increase the facility's maximum capacity from 148 to 170 children.
Planning staff explained the original CUP (granted 1995) was nontransferable and that the applicant submitted a change-of-ownership request. Jordan (staff) told the board that the building inspector and the state had already inspected and authorized the proposed increase in children on-site. "The original permit had 148 children allowed on-site. The existing ... application is proposing an increase to 170 children," Jordan said.
Trustee Heffley asked whether the fire department needed to sign off on the higher occupancy; Jordan said the fire department had no comments on the file and that the building inspector performs the state inspection submitted to the state. The board approved the CUP with the nine conditions listed in the draft ordinance by voice vote.
