Board narrows construction-manager candidates, schedules interviews ahead of July recommendation

As part of preparations for planned capital work, Superintendent Zack Sedgwick and GEI Senior Engineer Isaac Roberts briefed the board on a recent Request for Proposals for construction-manager services. Sedgwick recommended interviewing three of the four respondents — Miron, Gundlach Champion, and Clark — and explained the interview committee composition (district administrators plus Board President Cambensy, Vice President Ray, and Secretary/Treasurer Zdunek).
The board voted to proceed with the interviews (motion carried 6–0). Sedgwick said the committee will evaluate local presence, pre-bond experience, proposed team personnel and pre-construction capabilities and will bring a recommendation to the July 21 board meeting. Roberts summarized the RFP and scoring criteria used to evaluate proposals; Sedgwick said the process aims to balance local familiarity and demonstrated pre-bond work.
