MAPS board designates election representative, directs first-ballot votes for three candidates

Member Cassidy Thomas moved the resolution and Trustee Jennifer Klipp seconded. The board voted 5-0 to approve the measure and also directed the designated representative and alternate to cast the board's first-ballot votes for Lowell Larson, Benjamin Bartlett and TJ Derwin. The resolution cites Section 614(2) of the Revised School Code (MCL 380.614(2)) as the governing authority for the electoral process.
Board members discussed the item briefly before the vote; the motion carried without recorded opposition. The board directed the secretary to file a certified copy of the adopted resolution with the Marquette-Alger Regional Education Service Agency, per the resolution language.
