Board unanimously approves consent agenda, personnel report and three student handbooks

At its Aug. 25 meeting the Lake Shore Board of Education approved several routine items by unanimous votes. Amy Thomas-August moved to approve the consent agenda "as presented," seconded by Keneth Gulock; the motion passed 7–0. The Personnel Report was approved on a motion by Amy Thomas-August, seconded by Amber Hildebrand, also passing 7–0.
The board then approved proposed changes to the 2025–26 Elementary Student–Parent Handbook (motion by Susan DeLong; second by Keneth Gulock), the 2025–26 KMS Student–Parent Handbook (motion by Wendy Tobias; second by Susan DeLong), and the 2025–26 LSHS Student–Parent Handbook (motion by Keneth Gulock; second by Amy Thomas-August). Each handbook motion passed unanimously, 7–0. During discussion Dr. Lewis confirmed that substitute pay rates are set by the district and are being monitored against other Macomb County districts.
