Board awards $131,140 contract to replace Lake Shore High media center condenser and coils

The Lake Shore Board of Education on July 28 voted to award the Lake Shore High School Media Center condenser and coil replacement contract to Trane Detroit, using the OMNIA cooperative purchasing agreement, at a cost not to exceed $131,140. The motion was made by Board member Susan DeLong and seconded by Board member Elizabeth Munger and passed unanimously among members present.
President Kurt Ziegler asked about the expected life of the new equipment. Superintendent Dr. DiPonio said the district is "hoping to get 15 to 20 years out of the units." The board recorded the motion and vote without amendment and the contract award will proceed under the cooperative purchasing arrangement.
The replacement addresses HVAC reliability in the media center and was presented as part of the board's facilities maintenance agenda.
