The Grosse Ile Township Schools Board of Education approved its slate of officers for 2025 at an organizational meeting on Jan. 14, 2025. The meeting began at 6:30 p.m. and was presided over by Board president Nadia Tonova.
Nominations were made from the floor: Katie Cihak nominated Frank DeMare for president, supported by Jeffrey Anderson; Frank DeMare nominated Katie Cihak for vice president, supported by Jeffrey Anderson; Jeffrey Anderson was nominated for treasurer (supported by Dr. Daniel Murphy); and Nadia Tonova was nominated for secretary (supported by Katie Cihak). The minutes record the formal resolution: "Be it resolved that the Grosse Ile Township Schools’ Board of Education approves the following slate to serve as Board officers for the calendar year of 2025." The slate approved was Frank DeMare III as president, Katie Cihak as vice president, Jeffrey Anderson as treasurer, and Nadia Tonova as secretary. The motions were recorded as passing unanimously with "Ayes all, motion carried." The meeting roll call lists seven trustees as present.
