The Farmington Board of Education voted to convene a closed session on Dec. 17, 2024 to discuss negotiation of a collective bargaining agreement under section 8(c) of the Open Meetings Act, Public Act 267 of 1976. Treasurer Claudia T. Heinrich moved the motion, and Vice President Donald Walker Jr. supported it; the motion passed on a roll-call vote, 5-0.
The minutes record the board moving to closed session at 5:04 p.m. and returning to the special meeting at 6:02 p.m.; the meeting was adjourned at 6:02 p.m. Present for the meeting were President Terri A. Weems, Vice President Donald Walker Jr., Treasurer Claudia T. Heinrich, Trustee Cheryl B. Blau and Trustee Angie F. Smith; Trustee David N. Turner was absent. The minutes list Superintendent Kelly Coffin and Assistant Superintendent Brad Paddock as also present.
"It was moved by Heinrich and supported by Walker that the Board of Education convene to Closed Session pursuant to section 8(c) Negotiation of a Collective Bargaining Agreement of the Open Meetings Act, Public Act 267 of 1976."
