Chelsea School District trustees sworn in; board elects president, vice president, secretary and treasurer

The Chelsea School District Board of Education opened its Jan. 6, 2025 meeting by swearing in newly elected trustees Erin Hunt‑Carter and Heidi Reyst and then electing its officers for the year.
President Kate Henson administered the Oath of Office to the two trustees. The oath recited at the meeting stated: "I do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of this State, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of Member of the Board of Education of the Chelsea School District according to the best of my ability." Following the oath, trustees responded as required to signify acceptance of the office.
In elections conducted during the same meeting, the board nominated and elected Kate Henson as board president (motion by Heidi Reyst; second by Sara Tracy). The motion carried 6–1, with Eric Wilkinson recorded as the lone Nay. Erin Hunt‑Carter was nominated and elected vice president (motion by Kate Henson; second by Glenn Fox); the record shows one abstention for a conflict of interest. Sara Tracy was elected secretary and Michelle Craig was elected treasurer; both motions passed unanimously, 7–0.
The board will proceed into its normal committee work and agenda items under the newly elected officers.
