The Comstock Board of Education recognized students and staff during the June 9 meeting and announced personnel milestones.
Superintendent Dr. Jeff Thoenes described the purpose of Student and Staff of the Month awards, saying, "The student of the month award celebrates and recognizes individual achievement and showcases accomplishments in academics, athletics, and exemplary character traits." He listed student recipients from district schools and staff recognized in food service and custodial roles. The board also congratulated teachers awarded tenure for the 2024–2025 school year: Jessica Faux, Jason Haithcox, Sharon Stacy and Carol Wright. Dr. Thoenes announced retirements for Gordon Waterman (1985–2025, 40 years) and Brenda Cline (1993–2025, 32 years).
These recognitions were presented early in the meeting under the Recognitions agenda and required no board votes.
