Council approves CDL reimbursement agreement for public works employee

Wolf explained the city adopted a CDL reimbursement policy on July 14, 2025 that provides financial assistance for employees obtaining a CDL while requiring prorated repayment of training costs if an employee leaves or is terminated before completing a required service period.
The total cost of CDL training and certification is $2,044. Alderpersons Bailey Ruona and Maureen Otwell moved to approve the agreement; the motion passed without a negative voice vote. The agreement is intended to support recruitment and retention of CDL-certified staff who perform snow plowing, dirt hauling and other Public Works activities.
