Council approves riverfront and downtown interpretive signs, asks to add learning center to directory

City Administrator Matt Wolf presented Resolution 40-26 seeking approval to purchase and install park, riverfront historical and downtown directory signs from Graphic House, Inc., the vendor that previously installed signs at Mercord Mill Park, Jacques Park, Public Square Park and Magee Park. The signs are part of the Riverfront Improvement Project to highlight Prescott’s history and the role of the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers in the city's development.
Alderperson Maureen Otwell asked whether the Great River Road Learning Center could be added under the "Arts and Culture" section of the downtown directory. Alderperson Dar Hintz and Bailey Ruona moved to approve Resolution 40-26; Mayor Gerke called the roll and the motion passed with Ruona, Otwell, Granquist, Hintz, and Sorenson voting yes.
