Sara J. Liscomb, town manager, told the board the town has replaced the backup battery that had been causing internet outages and that it is upgrading internet and phone service to reduce recurring outages and lower costs. "We are upgrading the internet and phone service which will cut our monthly bill in half," she reported during the Dec. 15 meeting.
Liscomb also noted operational details: planned staff coverage and her own upcoming time off (Wednesday morning and all of Thursday). The meeting's chairman additionally noted a seasonal item—a Christmas tree installed at the flag pole—under "Chairman's issues." The manager framed the technology work as a reliability and savings measure for municipal operations.
