County approves fee waivers for Harvest Lantern Festival and community 5K

Organizers of two community events described plans and asked the board to waive pavilion rental fees. Doreen Bybee, event coordinator with Brandy's Tumbling, described the fourth annual Harvest Lantern Festival — "floating lanterns out on the lake" with games, food trucks and vendors — and requested a waiver for two pavilions.
"I'm with Brandy's Tumbling and the event coordinator for the Harvest Lehi Festival," Bybee said. County staff noted a $100-per-pavilion rental; commissioners approved a $200 fee waiver covering two pavilions for the festival.
Separately, Savannah Boyd of Healthy City USA described a free 5K 'be kind' family run tied to Kind Community's outreach and requested a fee waiver for Pavilion 3. "This event is for, like, a be kind to your body type event… it's a free event for the community," Boyd said. Commissioners discussed event wording and logistics and voted to approve the waiver and the event.
Both approvals were handled in open session as part of the event contracts and pavilion rental requests; organizers were thanked and encouraged to proceed.
