Councilor Melanie Vigil moved to approve renewal of the city's Wyoming Association of Municipalities (WAM) membership for $35,404. The motion was seconded and after a presentation and brief council comments the motion passed by roll call, 7 yes, 0 no, 2 absent.
Matt Murdock, introduced as the mayor of Pinedale and president of WAM, outlined WAM's work representing Wyoming's 99 cities and towns, and highlighted new tools and programs the association is offering, including WARP (the Wyoming Automated Regulatory Platform) for digital permitting and a municipal finance program that offers part-time treasurer services for smaller jurisdictions. "WAM's mission is to empower member communities by delivering education, training, resources that foster professional growth and municipal excellence," Murdock said. Councilors thanked Murdock and WAM staff, noting the association's role in training, intergovernmental advocacy and improved collaboration with counties and the legislature.
Councilors said the membership provides value through shared resources, training and advocacy at the state level. The council voted to renew membership funding in the amount stated on the motion.
