Board rewrites treasurer job description, discusses hours to avoid IMRF threshold

Board members reviewed proposed job descriptions for a village treasurer and deputy clerk, including recommended duties and the number of monthly hours to list in the posting. The clerk recommended removing utility billing from the treasurer role and discussed whether to list the position as salaried or hourly. She noted a common IMRF threshold, saying, "anything over 599 hours per year, which is, like, 49 some hours, you know, requires payments in the IMRF."

Trustees discussed splitting duties and whether to add hours to the deputy clerk or post the position as a full-time clerk/collector. The board agreed that the village attorney Dominic would review the posting before it was distributed and that the board would revisit hiring once applications were received.
