Several members raised concern about a reported town plan to place a new permanent stage on lower, wetter ground near the prior permanent stage footprint. Chair (S4) said that placing the stage there will increase prep costs due to fill and compaction and urged the committee to press town staff for clarification.
"You're talking fill. You're talking it's in a awkward place compared to where you folks talked about it and where we had it last year," Chair (S4) said. Multiple members suggested the temporary stage location used last year provided better sightlines and less prep work. The committee agreed to contact the town administrator (David Jones) to obtain drawings, cost estimates and a timeline before taking a formal position.
