DHHS says duplicate record‑request fees removed; expedited shipping remains

Ryan Roberts, assistant director for operations and finance, told attendees the executive director's office reviewed record-request fees and eliminated line items that were duplicative or no longer used. He said the department did not raise routine record‑request rates but rather removed obsolete entries from the fee schedule.
Roberts said most public records requests are responded to electronically and that the department will continue an expedited shipping fee when items are mailed. "Most of our requests are responding to electronic," he said. Committee members asked whether the remaining expedited-shipping charge would cover actual postage and Roberts said the expedited shipping fee is set to match expected costs.
