Board approves bakery and dairy bids; Food Service Manager says prices largely unchanged from 2024-25

Following a brief explanation from Food Service Manager Chris Collins, the board approved two food-service contracts for the 2025-26 school year. The board voted 6-0 to accept the bakery bid from Scott Brenneman Distribution Company and the dairy bid from Jilbert Dairy.
Chris Collins' memo to the board noted that Scott Brenneman (the local Aunt Millie's distributor) offered no price increase from the prior year: bread at $2.88 per loaf and hamburger and hot dog buns at $3.43 per package. Collins reported no bidding response for whole-grain dinner rolls and indicated MAPS would purchase those rolls from the district's broad-line distributor if needed. For milk, Jilbert Dairy submitted pricing for half-pint cartons: skim chocolate $0.3697, 1% chocolate $0.3687, 1% white $0.3397 and skim white $0.3179; Collins calculated an average milk carton cost of $0.3490, an increase of $0.005 over last year.
"Prices have not increased from last school year," Collins wrote in his recommendation, and trustees approved the recommended vendors by motion and vote.
