During the May 28 work/study meeting the Manistee Area Public Schools board reviewed the 2025 Board Goal Tracker and discussed how to make the district’s guiding principles more publicly accessible.
Board members noted that the guiding principles currently appear on a staff page that is not readily available to the public and asked staff to move them to a 'MAPS Vision' page. Members asked for a clear strategy to revamp the district website so the public can see board priorities, and they proposed purchasing signage to display the district’s guiding principles in school buildings.
Board members also referenced a 'CBA Training Marker' and the Board Goal Tracker as tools to monitor progress; they asked staff to highlight the guiding principles and ensure the website and signage reflect leadership and accountability. Staff follow-up was requested; no formal vote or budget appropriation was recorded at the meeting.
