City approves interlocal agreement for MyGovernment Online permitting suite

The Lucas City Council voted to authorize the city manager to negotiate and enter into an interlocal agreement with the South Central Planning and Development Commission to adopt the MyGovernment Online cloud-based permitting and government management suite.
Staff presented the product as a fully cloud-hosted suite that would support permitting, planning, code enforcement, fire and health inspections, GIS addressing and online payments. Staff said the monthly fee is transactional and tied to the number of permits; an example baseline monthly figure discussed at the meeting was $2,305 with a one-time training fee of $3,000 for one week (two weeks would be $6,000). "It is very reasonably priced," staff said, adding the contract term is two years and there are no additional license fees beyond the training and monthly transaction-based payments.
Council members asked about cybersecurity, GIS integration, efficiency gains for staff and whether uptime and references had been checked; staff responded the suite integrates with the city's GIS and that staff had called municipal references and performed test permit submissions. A motion to authorize the agreement was seconded and approved by voice vote.
