Rockleigh approves $26,832 purchase of Polaris vehicle for trail recycling collection

The Borough of Rockleigh approved Resolution 2026-58 to purchase a Polaris PRO XD full-size gas vehicle with heater kit through the Sourcewell cooperative (Contract #091024-PSI) from Eastern Lift Truck Co., Inc., in an amount not to exceed $26,832.69. The purchase was certified by the Chief Financial Officer and charged to designated municipal accounts.
Mayor Pontone earlier reported the Polaris would be used mainly for collecting recycling on borough trails and proposed forming a committee of residents and council members to develop a recycling collection plan; councilmembers supported forming the committee. Councilwoman Antine moved and Councilwoman Altman seconded adoption of the resolution; roll call was unanimous among present members with Councilman Mender absent.
The resolution instructs the municipal clerk to forward a certified copy to the CFO, QPA, and the Sourcewell cooperative.
