District schedules assessment-focused PD; grades 3–5 math assessments in implementation year

The committee noted a Feb. 23 professional development day focused on assessments and that grade 3–5 math assessments are in an implementation year using paper-and-pencil this trimester; results will be entered into Renaissance DnA for analysis.
Randy Barton said the next professional development day is planned for Feb. 23 and will focus on assessment work. Barton described a district plan to use that day to support teachers in implementing new or revised assessments.
Barton and staff reported that grades 3–5 math assessments are in an implementation year. To help students show work, staff will use paper-and-pencil formats this trimester; assessment results will be entered into Renaissance DnA for subsequent analysis and to guide targeted instruction.
