The Okarche Public Schools Board approved an agreement with Edge Sports Fitness to provide strength and conditioning training services and elective classes for students in 2025–26 and approved Denny Bonewitz, Jillian Wilhelm and Caleb Schopen as the Strength and Conditioning Coaches. The motion was made by John Pinkerton and seconded by Robert Anderson and passed 4–1; Joe Alig cast the dissenting vote.
During discussion Mr. Pinkerton said the board should "discuss in the future if there is a limit on how much we increase each year before we hire someone," and Mr. Alig voiced a fiscal-responsibility concern about using Edge Sports alongside a certified teacher. The board nonetheless approved the agreement and coach appointments.
