Community leaders and partner districts honor retiring Superintendent Michael Gallagher

Representatives from the Cupertino‑Fremont‑Sunnyvale PTA Council, Fremont Union High School District, Cupertino Union School District (trustee Sylvia Liang), the office of Congressman Ro Khanna and county and state legislative offices each read resolutions and offered praise for Gallagher—s leadership on bonds, strategic planning and social‑emotional initiatives.
Eric Thompson of the PTA presented an Outstanding Administrator award, and other speakers cited the district—s $214 million bond approval and high local support for parcel tax renewals under Gallagher—s leadership. In his remarks Gallagher reflected on his career and cited his family—s teaching background; trustees and community members took a short recess to celebrate with photos and refreshments.
