The Sunnyvale School District's Community Bond Oversight Committee presented its annual report, saying recent activity and project reviews show continued oversight of bond-funded facility improvements.
Doug Kunz, chair of the CBOC, summarized committee activity for the 2024-25 school year, site visits to Ellis and Sunnyvale Middle School and work reviewing quarterly and annual financial reports for bond measures. He reported detailed finances: "The specific financials for this year were beginning fund balance of $10,445,801.36 for Measure GG, with a projected ending fund balance of $18,725,024.83," reflecting a final bond sale that increased the fund balance.
Facilities staff and the committee highlighted completed and ongoing projects, including campus modernizations and HVAC and canopy replacements. The committee confirmed, based on district reports, that bond proceeds have been expended only for purposes set forth in the applicable bond measures and not for teacher or administrative salaries. Trustees thanked outgoing chair Kunz for his service.
