Board hears LCAP alignment and expects fuller midyear data in June

The Sunnyvale Board of Education heard a study-session presentation on how the district’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) aligns with the district strategic plan and state-required measures. Presenters said the session reviews year two of a three-year LCAP cycle and that local indicators and the strategic-plan objectives are being integrated to guide resource allocation and actions.
Staff explained that some metrics are state-mandated and therefore must be included in the LCAP, while other local measures are used to guide district priorities and resource allocation. The presenters told the board that midyear socio-emotional metrics are not final until late April and that the full set of updated midyear data will be available in the June report. “Cuando reciben el informe en junio, va a incluir todos los datos,” a presenter said, explaining the timeline for updated figures. The board and participants asked clarifying questions about the difference between the LCAP metrics and the strategic-plan measures and were told to expect a more detailed packet and opportunity for public comment in June.
