The New Buffalo Area Schools Board approved the consent agenda during the Jan. 27 meeting, which included approval of minutes and payments across multiple funds: General Fund $321,515.90; Payroll $885,904.37; Food Service $23,919.06; Scholarship Fund $54,615.46; and Public Improvement $157,755.60. The motion was made by Jennifer Summers, seconded by Denise Churchill, and recorded as carried with all ayes.
Class President Riley Tertel (12th grade) gave a student update during communications, saying, "Winterfest was a success," and noting dress-up days, games, a Winterfest dance and a boys basketball win. Tertel also said some students and staff will participate in the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Michigan and reminded the board the National Honor Society blood drive is scheduled for Jan. 28.
