Joy Deroche, introduced to the board as the owner of a local MedSpa, asked the selectmen to approve parking for a one-year anniversary event at 155 Main Street on Sept. 10 with a rain date of Sept. 17. She said the event would run 4–8 p.m., include women-owned vendors, raffles and sales, and that patrons would be cleared by 9 a.m. the following day.
Deroche described a vendor parking plan and said she had permission from a neighboring dentist for vendor parking and had arranged a police detail: “I am at the Old Depot, the old train station, so 155 Main Street…so we’re gonna be having everything on sale that day,” she said. A motion to approve the parking plan was made and seconded; the board voted in favor by voice vote and the chair instructed staff to prepare a motion letter to forward to the planning board as part of the planning-board packet.
