Sheriff's office seeks $300,000 for ballistic imaging and proposes new court deputy rates

A sheriff's office representative said the ballistic-imaging funds would cover hardware, software and five years of tech support used to solve gun-related crimes. Commissioners asked how municipalities would be notified about rate changes and urged better advance notice to allow municipal budgeting. Administration staff said a sergeant oversees court-administrator contacts and that individual agreements would return to the board when jurisdictions decide to continue services.
