Principal reports MOT resignation; district schedules Back to School Night and Grandparents' Luncheon; board member resigns

Alison Kahl, principal and secretary to the Snelling-Merced Falls Union Elementary School District board, reported an employee resignation and upcoming district events at the Aug. 14 meeting.
Kahl said that Dion Ortega submitted his resignation and that the district will post a MOT position on EdJoin to fill the vacancy. She also announced two calendar items: Back to School Night on Aug. 27 from 5:30–6:30 p.m., and the Annual Grandparents' Luncheon on Sept. 5 at 11:30 a.m.
Separately, the minutes record that board member Jessica Gobbell resigned at the end of the meeting because she is moving out of the district; the board will have a vacancy to address in a future agenda item.
