Board accepts $75,818 Edward Byrne JAG award for pretrial and public-safety uses

Schmidt said the grant period is 10/01/2024–09/30/2028 and noted one administrative caveat: the item required an exception because the full grant review process had not completed; an exception had been signed by the chair on 04/16/2026.
Schmidt said funds would support electronic monitoring systems and fire-unit gear and uniforms; the prosecutor's office would use a portion to improve certain technology tools. The board recorded a motion to accept and carried the item.
