Students report theater, music and athletic successes to board

Student board members Sara Zacharek and Madalin Yaw briefed the Committee-of-the-Whole on extracurricular activities and recent competition results. The minutes record that STCS Theater qualified for the state competition at Wayne State University, and that Heritage band and orchestra performed well at regional solo and ensemble competitions.
Madalin Yaw reported competitive results for Heritage Pom teams—JV placed fifth in JV Division 1 and the Varsity team won the Class A Division 1 state championship—and reminded the board that the Unified Basketball Team plays on Feb. 11 at Heritage High School. The minutes also note an annual food show scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at the Arrowwood Conference Center (SEG 011).
