District presents Project SEARCH program to expand employment supports for students with disabilities

Moore described the program's fidelity components, alignment with district goals and cited Michigan outcomes for employment rates and hourly wages and hours per week for program participants. She said funding for this opportunity is provided through the State Aid Act and that the program will be offered in addition to existing services such as Visions Unlimited coursework and PREP.
Board members asked questions and staff answered clarifications about program alignment and outcomes. The board did not take a formal vote on Project SEARCH at this meeting; the presentation was informational and intended to advance program planning.
