Council hears that Plevna is short on water meters; meter grant deadline 2027

During public comment Jaime Shanks said the town "has until 2027 to complete the water meter grant," and she and town staff discussed the town’s need for additional meters to replace unaccounted devices and to have spares for new properties.
Clerk/Treasurer Ashley Bondell relayed an operations update from absent Water/Wastewater Operator Sam Thielen that "Sam has approximately 31 meters remaining to install," noting many are pit-style meters or accounts for residents who have not scheduled installations. Councilmembers reiterated that additional meters will be needed to complete replacements and to cover future new hookups.
