The Plevna Town Council voted unanimously on Aug. 11 to adopt Resolution No. 200, which raises the monthly stipend for the mayor and council members by $25. The resolution was moved by Councilwoman Michele Gray and seconded by Councilwoman Promise Miller; the council recorded the motion as carried 4–0.
The council noted the increase will "take effect in January when new members take office." Council discussion did not identify changes to other compensation or a retroactive payment; the increase applies starting with the next term. No public comment was recorded on the wage change during the meeting.
